{"id":29960,"date":"2026-03-05T11:44:36","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T16:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aafa.org\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=29960"},"modified":"2026-03-31T16:02:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T20:02:06","slug":"aafa-remembrance-day-2026","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/aafa.org\/event\/aafa-remembrance-day-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"AAFA Remembrance Day 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On May 28, 2026, of <a href=\"https:\/\/aafa.org\/get-involved\/asthma-and-allergy-awareness-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month<\/a>, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and our division\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kidswithfoodallergies.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kids with Food Allergies (KFA)<\/a>\u00a0are holding a Remembrance Day in honor of family members and loved ones who\u2019ve passed from asthma or anaphylaxis. We also take time to remember other people who have needlessly been lost to preventable deaths.<\/p>\n<p>On average, 9 people in the U.S. die from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aafa.org\/asthma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">asthma<\/a>\u00a0each day. A few hundred die each year because of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aafa.org\/allergies\/allergy-symptoms\/anaphylaxis-severe-allergic-reaction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">serious allergic reactions, called anaphylaxis<\/a>\u00a0[anna-fih-LACK-sis]. Most of these deaths were preventable.
