New certification standard ensures window pollen screens block the passage of pollen to support healthier indoor spaces <\/em><\/p>\n Washington D.C., May 16, 2023 \u2014 The asthma & allergy friendly<\/strong>\u00ae\u00a0Certification Program, managed by Allergy Standards Ltd (ASL) and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), is excited to announce a new asthma & allergy friendly<\/strong>\u00ae certification standard for window-mounted pollen screens.<\/p>\n The new standard ensures that any pollen-blocking window screens that earn the asthma & allergy friendly\u00ae<\/strong> certification mark must pass rigorous scientific testing standards to prove that they:<\/p>\n \u201cPollen seasons are getting more intense and longer due to climate change. Pollen is the most common source of seasonal allergies and can trigger allergic asthma,\u201d shared Kenneth Mendez, CEO and president of AAFA. \u201cAllergen avoidance in the home is an important part of asthma and allergy management plans \u2013 but many people do not have air conditioning to cool their homes when it\u2019s hot.
